Common questions

How do I sign in?
Start Time uses Sign in with Apple or Google, so there is no separate password to remember. On iPhone and the web, either works; on Android, use Google. If you signed up with one, keep using that one — signing in with the other creates a separate account.
How do sign-ups and waitlists work?
Tap Sign up on any event to claim a spot. If the event is full you join the waitlist — when someone cancels, the top of the waitlist is promoted automatically and gets an email right away. You can leave an event or the waitlist any time from the event page.
What's the difference between groups and venues?
A group is a community of players — it has members, chat, and its own events (like your Tuesday tennis crew). A venue is a physical place. Follow the venues where you play and their upcoming events show up in your feed; join groups to play with the same people regularly.
Why do some events ask for a skill level?
Organizers can limit an event to a skill range so games stay competitive and fun. Set your level per sport in the app under More → Sports & skill levels. If an event uses a rating system you haven't filled in, you're asked to add it before signing up.
How do I create an event or a group?
In the app, tap the + tab to create an event — pick a sport, place, time and player count, and optionally attach it to one of your groups or make it repeat weekly. Groups live under More → My groups. Organizing is free, always.
Can I control notifications?
Yes — in the app, More → Notification settings lets you switch off pushes per type (messages, group chat, and more) and set quiet hours so nothing buzzes at night. Emails about your own sign-ups and cancellations always arrive, since you'd want to know.
Someone is behaving badly. What can I do?
Long-press any message, post, or photo — or use the ⋯ menu on a profile — to report it or block the person. Blocking hides you from each other everywhere. Reports are reviewed within 24 hours. For anything urgent or that doesn't fit a report, email us.
How do I delete my account?
In the app: open your profile from the More tab and tap Delete Account. On the web: sign in and go to Settings → Delete account. Your upcoming spots are released to the waitlist, your personal details are removed, and sign-in is disabled. This can’t be undone. What’s deleted and what’s kept.
