Child safety standards

Child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) of any kind is prohibited on Start Time. This includes:

• Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) — any image, video, text or other content that sexualizes a minor
• Grooming: contacting a minor to build trust for sexual purposes, in a message, chat, post or in person
• Sexualized comments about, or solicitation of, a minor
• Sextortion, or trafficking or advertising a minor for sexual purposes
• Using an event or group to arrange contact with a minor for any of the above

Start Time is not for anyone under 13, and accounts we learn belong to a child under 13 are closed. See our Terms of Service.

In the app

• Long-press a message, post or photo and tap Report.
• On a profile, open the ⋯ menu and tap Report profile.
• Choose “Inappropriate content”. You can also block the person, which hides you from each other everywhere.
• Then email us as well (below), so we know the report involves a child and can act on it first.

By email

Email support@starttime.io with “Child safety” in the subject. Include the person’s name or username and what you saw. Please don’t attach or forward the material itself.

If a child is in immediate danger, call 911 or your local emergency number first. In the US you can also report to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children at report.cybertip.org or 1-800-843-5678.

• Reports are reviewed by a person, and child safety reports are handled first.
• Content that breaks these standards is removed, and the account responsible is suspended and permanently banned.
• We report apparent child sexual abuse material to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC), as US law requires, and cooperate with law enforcement.
• We keep the information law enforcement needs and comply with the child safety laws that apply to us.
