Las Palomas Park, Yorba Linda: What to Know Before You Play
Four courts, pickleball only — permanent nets, nothing to assemble, no lines shared with another sport. On a weekday morning at this Yorba Linda park, all four run first-come, first-served, and nobody is booked ahead of you.
There are also two tennis courts that are used for city tennis lessons on some days. out side of those hours the courts are first come first serve, no cost to play.

What it's good for
Drop-in doubles before lunch, and planned evening sessions after. These are dedicated pickleball courts with permanent nets, so there's nothing to assemble and nothing to negotiate — you show up, and if a court is open, you play. Reservations cap at one court and six players, which suits a foursome or a small rotating group. There are tennis courts at the park too, though the city doesn't publish a count for them.
Before you go
Set up a YLRecOnline account before you need it. New accounts can take up to three days to approve, and residents have to provide proof of residency. Residents book 14 days out, non-residents 7, and the booking window opens at 4 p.m. daily.
Park on the east side of Avenida El Cid, in front of the park, and keep clear of driveways and mailboxes. The courts back onto homes, and the city asks players not to linger in the lot or on the street before and after playing.
Snacks, glass, alcohol, animals, and amplified music all stay off the courts. Water is fine, and there are fountains at the park.
Court hours run to 9 p.m. year round. The city's page doesn't spell out court lighting, so confirm it before you build a winter evening around the last slot.
City lessons hold courts Wednesdays 5 to 6 p.m. and Tuesdays and Thursdays 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Route around those if you're coming for open play.
Best times to play
Mornings are the no-planning window: 8 a.m. to noon, first-come, no booking, all four courts in play. Midday Tuesdays and Thursdays give up some space to lessons. From 4 p.m. on, the courts belong to whoever booked them, so evening play here rewards deciding a week ahead rather than driving over on a whim.
Who plays here
The courts are open to all skill levels, and the posted rule when players are waiting — one game to 11 — keeps the rotation moving. Midweek lessons mean newer players are around regularly. Come with a partner and you'll get into games; come alone in the morning and you'll usually find a fourth.
